Members of the Buddhist community on Thursday celebrated their biggest religious festival Buddha Purnima, marking the advent, nirvana and departure of Lord Gautam Buddha.
On this occasion different programs were held in all Monasteries and Buddhist-based organizations across the country.
President Professor Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia greeted the country’s Buddhist community on the eve of their holy occasion. The day was a national holiday.
