Awami League still Favors a Dialogue with the Government

M A Jalil , the general secretary of the main opposition party in Bangladesh says that his party is still all for holding a dialogue with the government.

The dialogue was supposed to be held between the government and the opposition on the issue of reforming the election commission and the care taker government in Bangladesh. The exchanges of letters between the government and the opposition have stalled after the opposition refused to sit in any dialogues with the members of the Islamic fundamentalists party which is a part of the present coalition government in Bangladesh.

Jalil , however , said that they still hold the position that the President is being blackmailed and the government wants to change from the parliamentary to the presidential system.
