Oli Ahmed , a member of the standing committee of the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist party was critical of his own party.
In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Oli Ahmed a member of parliament and former minister, alleged that some of the members from within the government were responsible for Islamic militancy in Bangladesh. He was also skeptic against the younger leadership in the party because he thought that it was not only the youth but more importantly the experience which, amongst other things, make a good leader.
Oli Ahmed expressed his desire to contest from five constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary election in Bangladesh. He said if he was not allowed to contest in all five seats, BNP would be the eventual looser.
Citing a recent example of his reception in Chittagong , Oli Ahmed claimed that he commands the popularity which according to him is " unprecedented."
