In answer to questions on the series of bomb blasts on 21 August 2004 in Awami League’s public meeting where 22 people were killed including a top leader from the opposition , he said that investigations are progressing. Babar also mentioned that the Kibria Killing case is under trial and investigations are going ahead about the attack on the British High Commission. Babar says that Bangladesh Government is tough on terror, respects human rights and the freedom of press.
