On Sunday night at Lalgor in the West Midnapore District of Indian state of West Bengal , a local CPM leader was shot to death by the Maoist rebels.
Police say that the communist leader was shot at when he was returning to his house after attending a meeting of the Cooperative Sociely.
He was surrounded by a squad of the Maoists who triggered the bullet at a very close distance. A twelve hour strike was called at Lalgar to protest the Killing.
