A ministerial delegation will leave for drought-hit Coochbehar district on Wednesday to assess the situation there. The state government has already declared all the six districts in North Bengal as drought hit.
Cooperation Minister Rabin Ghosh told reporters that all the six North Bengal districts are drought-hit, but Coochbehar Is worst hit.
The delegation will assess the extent of damages in the area.
The members of the delegation include Agriculture Minister Naren Dey, Food and Supply Minister Paresh Adhikary, and disaster management and agriculture marketing minister Mortoza Hossain.
The ministerial delegation would place a report on the situation in the next cabinet meeting.
