Both sides agreed for exercising utmost restraint along the Bangladesh-India border to avoid any untoward incident and avail the existing institutional mechanism to resolve any situation arising out of such incidents,’ said a joint statement on Sunday at the end of four-day official talks between the home secretaries of the two countries.
The Bangladesh home secretary, Safar Raj Hossain, and his Indian counterpart, VK Duggal, led their respective sides at the meeting, which began on Thursday in the capital Dhaka.
