There have been reactions to the new party -- Liberal Democratic Party formed by Dr. Badruddoza Chowdhury and Colonel Oli Ahmed.
Dr. Khondaker Mosharraf Hossain, member of BNP Standing Committee, said that the new party will not be able to hurt BNP. He said members who broke ranks and joined the new party will be punished.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of Awami League, Abdul Jalil wished success for the new party and said that the accusation of corruption against BNP has proven to be true.
Houses of some of the defectors were set on fire.
