Advisors Review Demands of Political Parties in Bangladesh

The council of advisors of the caretaker government are examining ‘all possible options’ to address the demands of the two feuding political camps led by the BNP and the Awami League.

Mahbubul Alam, advisor in charge of the information ministry, told on Saturday evening that they are keeping in touch with all quarters concerned. In the meantime the Awami League-led camp on October 31 put forward to the caretaker government an 11-point charter of demands that include ‘reconstitution’ of the Election Commission by way of removing its chief, Justice MA Aziz, and the other commissioners.

Mr Alam said that in a meeting of the Advisors with the Chief Advisors they have discussed the matter unofficially.
