Dr Muhammad Yunus , the Chairman of the Grameen Bank and the Nobel laureate for Peace said that the Nobel Prize is a recognition of the Micro-Credit program .
Speaking to VOA Bangla Service from Global Micro Credit Summit , in Halifax, Canada , the initiator of micro credit said that they have been able meet the objectives they set in 1997 which is to reach a hundred million people.
In this Summit they have fixed a new objective to bring another 75 million people within the fold of micro-credit. Dr Yunus said that they have another goal to be fulfilled by 2015 which is poverty alleviation for hundred million of the 175 million people.
