US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Patricia Butenis, on Sunday asked Information Adviser Mainul Hosein to take steps to ensure the media "freedoms were fully protected".
Butenis told reporters that the vibrant Bangladeshi media should be allowed to operate without any infringement. Her comments came after a meeting with Hosein at his law ministry office at the Secretariat. She also expressed concerns about "some of the arrests".
