Dr M Zahir, a renowned jurist from Bangladesh has welcomed the government decision to promulgate an order for the separation for Judiciary from the Executive.
In an exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, Barrister Zahir says this is an important legal step forward although a lot needs to be done to execute the law for the separation which would include the transfer of the magistrates from the administration service to the judicial service.
He says that it might take between six months and one year to implement the law.
