The government has launched concerted efforts to prevent further proliferation of avian influenza, urging all concerned to make the efforts a success without being panicked of the virus.
A S M Matiur Rahman, the health and family welfare adviser to the interim administration, told a press briefing on Fridaythat there is no reason to be worried about the situation as the poultry meat and eggs are totally safe for consumption after usual cooking .
On the previous day the government officially admitted that the virus was found in chickens in a Savar poultry farm near Dhaka.
