The police arrested 15 suspected Islamist militants at a house at Mauja Malibari in the Gaibandha district headquarters on Saturday. Those who were arrested said they were activists of an outfit called Allar Dal.
Nine of them are from Sundarganj and the remaining from the district headquarters, the home of the in-law of Siddiqul Islam Bangla Bhai, second-in-command of the banned Islamist outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh, who was hanged along with five others on March 30.
The police said they had raided the house of Abu Bakkar when the militants were holding a meeting there.
