Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 15 JMB militants from Isakhali Bazar of village Chatol in Muktagachha upazila in the early hours of Sunday.
Following a tip, the RAB squad raided the house of Hira Khalifa at village Nabinagar at about 4:00am yesterday where the militants reportedly used to meet regularly but none was found.
Later raiding the tailoring shop of Hira Khalifa at nearby Isakhali Bazar where the militants were holding a meeting, the RAB captured the 15 militants while five or six militants managed to escape, RAB officials said.
Two mobile sets, copies of case filed against Bangla Bhai, newspaper cuttings of the stories published on the hanging of Bangla Bhai and other top militants, some books on Jihad were also seized from them.
In another news, Hannan Shah, advisor to the BNP’s chairperson Khaleda Zia, his son Shah Rezaul Hannan and 96 others were on Sunday sued under arms and explosive acts. They have been accused of attacking an Awami League rally at Kapasia with arms and ammunitions.
