The president of the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, has requested the government high-ups to take proper care of her party’s arrested general secretary, Abdul Jalil.
The government is learnt to have assured Hasina that it will take proper care of his health during detention, sources in the government and the AL said.
Hasina, on Wednesday talked to the chief adviser to the interim government, Fakhruddin Ahmed, and the law, justice and parliamentary affairs adviser, Mainul Hosein, over phone and requested the government to take proper care of Jalil’s health.
Following the request from Hasina, the chief adviser and the law adviser on Thursday discussed the issue again and decided to take every necessary measure regarding his health.
