This year Bengali-speaking people of the world in general and Indian Sub-continent in particular are observing 66th death anniversary of the greatest poet of modern and undivided India -- Rabindranath Tagore -- Nobel- laureate poet and the only person of the world to have authored national anthem of two independent nations -- India and Bangladesh. A literary genius with versatile creativity he is omnipresent in every moment of life and thought of Bengalis and is a part of their very existence. In the history of the world, perhaps, no other poet or writer has such a dominating influence on the people as a whole. In that sense, Rabindranath is ever-relevant in the life of Bengali speaking people.
