President Bush Says US, Pakistan Can Capture al-Qaida Leaders

President Bush says he is confident the United States can work with Pakistani leaders to bring the top leaders of the al-Qaida terrorist network to justice.

Mr. Bush made the remark on Thursday during a news conference in Washington.

Mr. Bush's comment came after Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf criticized recent US statements threatening direct attacks on militants in Pakistan.

On education, the president said he plans to sign legislation Thursday that calls for spending 33.6 billion dollars over the next three years for science, technology, engineering and mathematics research and other education programs for US government agencies.
