Authorities in Bangladesh have lifted a nighttime curfew imposed in Dhaka and five other cities following last week's violent student protests.
The country's military-backed interim government announced the curfew last Wednesday following on-campus fighting in Dhaka between police and university students who were demanding an end to emergency rule.
The violence left one person dead and at least 150 others injured.
Soldiers had been stationed at the university since January, when officials canceled elections in response to violent political protests of alleged vote rigging. The interim government imposed a state of emergency and banned all political activities and demonstrations.
