Rokeya Zaman is the founder –president of a non-governmental organization called “Unity Through Population Service (UTPS).
She is involved in working for women and children’s health and welfare. In late seventies she joined family planning cell in an NGO after quitting her government job.
The UTPS, which Rokeya formed in 1982, now has four satellite clinics with modern operation theaters in Dhaka, two ambulances and other medical facilities with about three hundred fifty employees working along with other doctors and nurses.
