The law and information adviser, Mainul Hosein, on Sunday said the caretaker government would discuss lifting of the state of emergency if the Election Commission asks for it.
When reporters in Dhaka asked him about the lifting of emergency he said that it would depend on the situation. He wanted to know if the situation has improved for lifting emergency rule in Bangladesh.
Mainul was critical of politicians and said that politicians are still speaking in their old language. A change in politics must be brought about.
He added that politicians should make commitments that they won’t go back to pre-1/11 situation.
