President Bush says his eight-day visit to the Middle East will include talks about Iran, which he says will continue to be a threat if it is allowed to learn how to enrich uranium.
U.S. intelligence agencies reported in December that Iran already knows how to enrich uranium and is enriching enough to produce a nuclear weapon sometime between 2010 and 2015. The report also claimed that Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003. Mr. Bush (Tuesday) complained the report has sent a "mixed signal" to the international community. The president also discussed plans for Mideast peace, saying Palestinians need to have a vision for a peaceful state next to Israel in order to compete with the vision of terrorists in the region.
