Bangladesh Government Revives MIG Case against Hasina


The government of Bangladesh has revived a seven year old case against the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for taking kick backs on a MIG deal.

Based on an appeal by the state counsel , the court has ordered the prison authority to produce Sheikh Hasina before the cpurt on February 27 , in connection with this case

A Dhaka court on Sunday granted a petition to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to interrogate detained former premier Khaleda Zia at the sub-jail gate in connection with the Niko graft case. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Rabbani passed the order after ACC Assistant Director SM Sahidur Rahman, who is also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted a petition to interrogate the former premier.

Khaleda was shown arrested in the case on December 30 last year along with former law minister Moudud Ahmed, former state minister for energy AKM Mosharraf Hossain after the IO of the case filed a petition.
