Dhaka Court Directs Authorities to Return Sheikh Hasina’s Passport

A Dhaka Court has directed Bangladesh government to return the passport of detained Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. Awami League chief is undergoing treatment in Square Hospital in Dhaka.

Sheikh Hasina’s passport was seized by the joint forces on July 16,2007 immediately after her arrest from her Sudha Sadan residence.

Awami League has sent a letter to Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed to take necessary steps immediately to release its chief unconditionally, so she can go to the US for treatment. A new panel of seven physicians of the hospital has been formed for the former PM’s medical check-up.

Amir Khasru has more on the story.
