Gary Thomas said that he had noticed in the past the deep animosity Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League ( Nawaz) and thinks that the present coalition is due to their common cause against President Musharraf. He , therefore, thinks that the coalition will remain as long as Musharraf will continue to be in power.

Strong democratic institutions, a strong Prime Minister and Parliament and above all an independent judiciary is indispensable for a vibrant democracy. He added , if we see the judiciary really independent, that will be a tremendous step forward.
