The Acting Director of the World Food Program in Dhaka Edward Kallon has said that the food situation in Bangladesh is serious and dangerous too.
In an exclusive with VOA Bangla Service he said that the buying power of the people has gone down and the lack of employment opportunity has created a complex problem.
He also said a new trend is being noticed in Bangladesh, people who had the ability to spend money, has no longer the ability to buy things. He refused to comment on the issue whether is a silent famine or a hidden hunger but he commented that people in Bangladesh do not have an access to a required amount of food.
