Agartala, the capital of the Indian state of Tripura is going to be connected from 15th August 2008 by railway network for the first time .
Thousands of people welcomed on Sunday a solitary rail engine on its inaugural trial run on the 67-kilometer route to the Agartala station. Tripura will be the second of the 8 North-Eastern states whose capital will be connected by rail. The 6-year railway project took a toll of over 100 lives from Malaria and attacks from terrorists.
