BNP's student wing activists continued their demonstrations on Dhaka University campus for the second day today for the release of detained BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her eldest son Tarique Rahman.
The day after their violent outburst in
the capital, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders and activists yesterday
threatened to forge a 'tougher movement for ousting the caretaker government'
if BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman is not sent abroad
immediately for treatment.
JCD activists declared the vow from a protest rally held on Dhaka University
(DU) campus around 12:45pm, and paraded the campus with a protest
march. They also demanded immediate unconditional release of detained BNP
Chairperson Khaleda Zia, mother of Tarique.
Dhaka Metropolitan police filed a case against 200
unknown persons in connection with the
incidents of violence in which one person was killed and several vehicles were
burnt down.
