Acting British High Commissioner in Bangladesh, Duncan Norman has met with officials from BNP and Awami League. He held meetings with BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain and AL acting General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.
He said that the two parties are committed to refrain from violence, establish sustainable democracy and carry on reforms activities. He said the two parties should take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Duncan Norman said he had three messages for the political parties. They were: political parties’ participation in the election, parties staying away from violence and strengthening of democratic institutions.
