Pioneer of Bangla literary journalism Mohammad Nasiruddin died in Dhaka at the age of 105.
To his credit – he introduced Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in Bangla literature during early 20th century; edited a progressive modern literary journal “Saogat”; published in his magazine writings of famous poets, novelists, essayists of undivided Bengal including poet Rabindranath Tagore; encouraged women writers to bring them in limelight; fought fanaticism, communalism and Muslim conservative ideas.
