The military-controlled interim government on
Tuesday warned political parties not to hold rallies and processions till
November 27 as such gatherings will constitute a breach of the Emergency Powers
Rules and ordered law enforcers take action against any of such violations.
Against the backdrop of rallies and
demonstrations by some political parties in recent days, particularly after the
relaxation of the emergency rules on November 3, the law enforcement agencies
on Tuesday were asked to go tough in case of any violation of the emergency
rules to keep order.
The order was given at a meeting of the
cabinet committee on law and order at the secretariat. The home affairs
adviser, MA Matin, presided over the meeting.
After the meeting, the police headquarters
issued an order asking all concerned to go by the emergency rules.
