The two major parties in Bangladesh Awami League and BNP want government to specify when emergency will be withdrawn.
Amir Hossain Amu, senior leader of Awami League and Khandokar Delwar, Secretary of BNP told journalists that government should come up with specifics regarding the date of withdrawal of emergency.
Earlier, the Chief of Army in Bangladesh, General Moeen U Ahmed, said he would request the government to withdraw the state of emergency, declared on January 11, 2007, before the December 29 general election.
