The State Department says the investigation into the Mumbai terror
attacks will be on the agenda when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
meets with Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon on Monday (EDS: 3 pm).
State Department acting spokesman Robert Wood said Clinton will be
asking for a progress report on the probe, which killed around 170
people and raised tensions between India and Pakistan.
He said U.S. officials believe Pakistan has been providing "helpful information" to India but added that "more can be done."
Pakistan has admitted the Mumbai attacks were partly planned in
Pakistan. However, it denies India's charge that elements of Pakistan's
intelligence service may have been involved.
Clinton is also expected to discuss a range of other issues with Menon, including the war in Afghanistan.
