Bangladesh Government Urges People Not to Panic About Swine Flu

Health Minister of Bangladesh Dr AFM Ruhal Haque attended an inter-ministerial meeting at Health Ministry in Dhaka and later said that no case of the Swine Flu has yet been detected in Bangladesh.

He urged people not to panic, but to remain on high alert to prevent the pandemic of swine flu that killed at least 159 people in Mexico from spreading to Dhaka.

At the meeting it was decided that incoming air passengers, particularly from the flu-affected countries, will be closely monitored and screened at Zia International Airport in the capital, Dhaka as part of government’s contingency plan to prevent the flu.
