The visiting European Union Troika delegation Monday said the EU thinks that every war crime should be investigated but it has to be done properly, carefully and transparently.
About the war-crime trial, a buzzword in the present times, leader of the Troika delegation Helena Bambasova said: "It is important but also a sensitive issue. We think in the European Union that every war crime should be investigated. At the same time it has to be done properly, carefully and in a transparent way so that every possible suspicion of abusing the situation of the winner or abusing this topic for some revenge has to be excluded."
She made the remarks replying to a question from reporters after meeting with Foreign Minister Dipu Moni at the Foreign Ministry in the afternoon.
About extrajudicial killings she said that she had been reassured there is commitment of zero tolerance and that all those cases must be properly investigated in a transparent way.
The Troika delegation who arrived here Sunday for a two- day visit already met some leaders and was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Opposition Leader Khaleda Zia.
