West Bengal Government will repair Cyclone-affected Dams


The government in the Indian state of West Bengal has decided to repair three dams which have been damaged during recent Aila cyclone in the region.

The government has allocated one hundred billion Indian rupees as expenditure to build this up. A high level meeting held at the provincial secretariat under the chairmanship of West Bengal Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta took this decision . Amongst other a representative of the World Bank was also present in the meeting.

The finance minister informed that the dams would be built in phase in such a way that they could stand the pressure of wind and water alike.
