The main opposition party in Bangladesh, BNP, might abstain from the next parliament session beginning on September 7.
BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain told reporters that the government has failed to create an atmosphere for the opposition to return to parliament.
He said that the government is withdrawing only those cases filed against them while the cases against opposition activists are still being tried. Mr. Hossain feels they cannot participate in this situation.
