In an interview with Voice of America, Sheikh Mohammed Ashrafuzzaman spoke about voting, election campaign and security situation in Kandahar, the southern province of Afghanistan.
He said - Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah are the front runner. Kandahar is dominated by the Taliban, as such, number of female voters was less than male voters.
He heard mortar - rocket fires on election day but due to strict security measures so far, no deadly attack was reported.
BRAC has education and income generating programs in Kandahar and elsewhere in Afghanistan.
