Brigadier General Mohmmad Abdur Rashid, after retirement started to work as a free lance analyst on national security and strategic issues in Bangladesh. He is well known in the talk show circuit of the various TV channels.
He also writes columns on national security, terrorism and strategic issues in the leading newspapers of the nation.
In an interview with Voice of America, Brigadier Rashid said that during the rule of Jamat BNP alliance government, fundamental militants enjoyed good support from certain members of the then ruling coalition, who had alleged links to the militants.
He also said this government has put pressure on the militants and is also monitoring their source of money, from various countries and so called charitable Islamic organizations.
