Peace processions were brought out in both Khagrachari and Rangamati, the hill districts in Bangladesh, after a week-long violence between the tribal and non-tribal people that left 4 dead and over one hundred injured. At midday, the procession began at Rajyamani Para and ended in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
On Thursday, a curfew was imposed in Khagrachari for the third consecutive night. The curfew will begin at 8 PM on Thursday and end at 6 AM on Friday. The district authorities have been trying to hold a peace meeting and rally where the hill people and the settlers would participate.
