Jamaat-e-Islami Leaders Deny Accusations of being War Criminals

Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, the Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami party of Bangladesh, said that the government has no right to treat Jamaat leaders as war criminals.

At a press briefing in the party’s central office in Mogbazar, he told the journalists that the government has been trying to blame his party leaders for war crimes just to ban religion based politics and divert the attention of the public from their own failures. He said that the issue of war crimes has been settled 36 years ago.

He also said that Jamaat-e-Islami leaders were not involved in war crimes during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. So they are not afraid and the members will not flee the country.
