League candidate Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon is set to win the by-election to the
Bhola 3 constituency as he was late Saturday night leading by 47,895 votes
against Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate M Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, according
to unofficial vote count from 72 out of the 77 centers.
The Election Commission earlier in the day suspended polling
in nine centers, on allegations of various irregularities and violence, which
altogether have 31,566 votes.
The election officials at Lalmohan were late Saturday night yet to receive results from five remote centres which altogether have 10,017 votes.
