FBCCI Demands Elimination of Tax Exemption for Selected Government Officials

On Tuesday, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex body of the business community of Bangladesh has demanded to bring the Prime Minister, ministers, MPs, and other public and judicial officials under the tax net in the next budget.

At a pre-budget discussion, the leaders speaking at the consultative committee meeting jointly organized by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and the FBCCI, said the provision of awarding prison sentence under the income tax law that allows exemption from tax should be eliminated.
