Dr. Ehsan Rahman, a Financial Analyst at Small Business Administration in Washington DC says that the employment condition has improved immensely in the United States.
“On February 17th 2009, number of unemployed was close to 800,000 that number has been decreasing and for the first time last month we have a positive number,” he said.
In an interview with VOA’s Bangla Service, Dr. Rahman explained how small businesses create most jobs and they can reduce unemployment rate.
U.S. President Barack Obama is urging Congress to take prompt action on measures to help small businesses recover from the recession.
Dr. Rahman said that the Troubled Asset Relief Program, commonly referred to as TARP helped big banks and now Obama administration and several members of Congress are drafting legislation for a new, $30 billion fund that would infuse community banks with capital specifically earmarked for small-business lending.
