Indian security forces have shot dead at least seven suspected Islamic militants in separate gunbattles in troubled Indian Kashmir.
Officials say three of those killed belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba -- one of the Pakistan-based militant groups India blamed for an attack on its parliament last year that killed 13 people.
That attack heightened tensions between the neighboring nuclear powers.
