Five-hundred people were arrested Tuesday in India after a protest against the alleged police shooting of three people.
Demonstrators moved through the streets of Patna -- burning vehicles and throwing rocks at police. Police say protesters also tried to burn a police stations. Authorities responded by firing gunshots into the air and releasing tear gas into the crowd.
The protesters demanded the arrest of the police officers who shot and killed three men Saturday. Police officials say the officers fired at robbers and deny any wrong doing.
