M Morshed Khan , Foreign Minister of Bangladesh , is leading a delegation to a special summit of the Organisation of Islamic Countries to be held at Doha. The summit is being held to discuss Iraq problem. Bangladeshi Foreign Office sources say that Mr Khan is leaving Bangladesh for Qatar to represent Bangladesh on behalf of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Foreign office sources say that Bangladesh wants a peaceful solution to the Iraqi problem . Bangladesh feels that war in Iraq might de-establise the situation in the region .
In another development , Christina Rocca , the US Assistant Secretary of State , left Bangladesh after discussion on bilateral and global matters with particular emphasis to Iraqi crisis. Bangladeshi leaders have informed Ms Rocca that their country would support any action under the auspices of the UN.
