Commitee to Protect Journalists' Annual Report - 2003-04-01


In the press conference by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) held in Washington Press Club, Joel Simon , the director of CPJ said , " already in a little more than two weeks two journalists have been killed in Iraq war. Several more are missing. " But he noted that the number of those killed in cross fire is smaller than those hunted down and murdered for their reporting.

Kavita Menon , the program Officer for Asia described the problems of investigative journalism in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal , Vietnam and China. She mentioned about the situation in Kashmir and Gujrat in India and the danger faced by Bangladeshi journalists covering crime and corruption in Bangladesh.
