After the session of the Indo-Bangladesh joint Economic Commission's meeting, a scheduled joint press conference was postponed until Wednesday, July 16 , apparently for some disagreements over Dhaka's insistence on narrowing a growing trade gap between India and Bangladesh and India's demand for transit and trans-shipment facilities.
India and Bangladesh have opened high-level talks in Dhaka on a proposed free trade agreement and other economic issues.
Indian Foreign Minister Yaswant Sinha arrived in Dhaka Monday, saying he wants to reaffirm India's commitment to what he called its valued relations with Bangladesh.
Tuesday's meeting of the India-Bangladesh Joint Economic Commission is the first since 1997.
