Concerns are being expressed in Bangladesh about Indian plan to build link canals with several rivers flowing into Bangladesh. Downstreams of many of these rivers flow into Bangladesh and experts think that such diversions of water in the upstream of the rivers in the Indian part will have adverse effects on the economy and ecology of Bangladesh .
